Since the PCC doesn't open until 11:00 am, we went to the beach in the morning. It was a lot of fun because it was the first day Granddad went with us. And Uncle P was there! Grammy rented a couple of boogie boards so M1 and Granddad paddled out to the reef. We dug a lot, built sand castles, made sand turtles, and buried each other. A great time was had by all.

After we were done at the beach, we went back to the apartments, showered, ate lunch and headed back to the PCC.

Our Tour Guide (aka P) gave us the tour and some of the additional information that only the VIP's get. I wish we could have done more at the different "islands" but we were being prodded like cattle to get through as fast as we could (it felt like). We did visit Tahiti where M1 got to help mix coconut bread. We went and saw Iosepa (a boat that had it's maiden voyage while P & J were going to school at BYU-H), Hawai'i where the girls learned to hula, we were reprimanded on our pronunciation of ukulele (it's "ookoo lay-lay" not "yuku lay lee") by the Hawaiian girl doing the presentation, and had a great time. Then we went to the canoe show where all the isladns have a float and have dancers on the floats. If I can get video to download, I'll post the float-pusher falling off the back of the float. That's where AFV comes from, friends. We also visited Tonga where there were lots of drums, drumbeats, and a few hilarious voluteers. One from Japan was over-the-top hilarious. Of course, not really understanding English, it was hard to follow the instructions which made it more entertaining for the rest of us. On to Fiji and a canoe ride. We got to weave fish out of palm leaves too.

Then we went back to Samoa and saw a real life Samoan Chief. He is friends with P and we got to meet him. His tatoos (yes, they are all real) took 14 days, 7 hours a day to get done. He said (after 2 weeks with them) that his knees still hurt. Crazy.

On the way home from the PCC, we went to Fumi's Shrimp Shack to have dinner. It was pretty good. When we got "home" I gathered all our stuff and started to pack. M1 & M2 got to sleep with Grammy (for the 1st time all week) at her house. M3 wanted to listen to my iPod and this was how I found her. She was listening to Cabbage Patch Kids.

We all felt this way, but not all of us had this luxury.

You forgot to mention how M3 stole the HULA show in the Hawaiian village from the Hawaiian Hula girl . . . everyone in the audience was watching her hula and not the actual performer!! Cutest thing ever!

Good job, now you only have two months to catch up on!!

Father's Day

So I'm a day late (and probably a dollar short, I'm not sure I haven't looked at our checking account lately) but I was busy over the weekend.  The girls came home (2 days early) and I was in Utah running the Wasatch Back.  And I pretty much missed Father's Day. I got home at 7:30 last night and Colby had made the girls dinner, cleaned up, and started the dishwasher.  They were watching Extreme Makeover Home Edition.  Had it been Mother's Day, he never would have lived it down, but he hasn't said a word (maybe that's not a good thing).  He's a great dad.  As I get teary just sitting down writing this, knowing he will never see/read it, he's amazing.  He's a hard worker and does it all for the girls and me.  He doesn't (usually) complain about anything and does what needs to be done.  He loves the kids and probably missed them as much as I did while they were gone.  I don't give him enough credit for having emotions about anything, but ...

In A One Horse Open Sled

Today we unloaded a couple tons of hay and Colby saddled up Lightening and pulled the girls around our 3.5 acres.  They had a ball and especially enjoyed singing "Jingle Bells...in a one horse open sled."  They make me laugh sometimes.  Ok, fine, a lot of times.

Holy Sm

I started typing in my title and when I finally looked up and saw (at that very point) that I've already used this one. So to reiterate, Holy Smokes! I can't believe how much I have to catch up on! Maybe tomorrow when I don't have visiting teachers coming, cleaning for my mother-in-law to make an appearance, Madie's piano lesson, 6 violin lessons, rehearsal and somehow I found time to pinch poor Meriden's finger in the front door, I'll download some photos from 1. Christmas (What?!? I still haven't done that?) 2. New Years Eve/Day 3. Madison and Mackenzie's first gymnastics meet videos and photos all before we go to another meet this weekend in Salt Lake, making sure I look like a good mom since my mother-in-law is in town (aka having food on the table at a decent hour), teach a few gymnastics classes, getting ready for Madison's big 9th birthday, taking treats into her class and actually getting packed and to Salt Lake all by Friday at 3 pm. ...
