Madison chose, when she turned 8, to get baptized and become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We, as her parents and family are really proud of her choice. That's one of the beautiful things, I think about the Church, is that kids are old enough to make the choice for themselves. I hope she didn't feel pressure from us. Colby taught her the discussions (the went through Preach My Gospel) and she chose to be baptized.
I took her to her Bishop's interview on Sunday, January 25th. While we were in the interview, Madison told the Bishop that her Grandfather was going to baptize her. News to me, but we'd figure it out. So she called Granddad in Hawaii that afternoon to ask him to baptize her. At first I was a little upset about it because that's something dads usually do, but what a great opportunity for her and for her granddad. So Colby got to confirm her a member of the Church and give her the gift of the Holy Ghost. It was a really neat day, and thank you Mom, Stacie, Martin, Ruth, Amelia, Susana, Jolynne, John, Cary, Janan, and Kaiya for coming to support our Madison in her decision. It really meant a lot for you all to be here.
After Madison's baptism, we went to Sizzler (Madison and Mackenzie's favorite pace to eat) for lunch. Colby and Cary decided to get new tires for Colby's truck (what a great day for that, huh?!) and headed out. The rest of us went back to our house to find swimming suits for everyone to swim at the hotel pool where Grammy/Granddad, Janan/Kaiya, & Cary stayed. We found enough suits and swam for about an hour and a half.
We headed back home to go for sled rides behind the 4-wheeler. Everyone who went had a blast. I'll have to steal some pics from my sil because I was slaving away over dinner when they went ;-).
Sunday my mom and sister & her family left. My in-laws stayed until Monday. We got Guitar Hero World Tour out of it's box (finally--it was a Christmas present for Triple M) and had a blast playing it. Too much fun and the girls are pretty good. Nothing like hearing Colby singing "On the Road Again" on Sunday morning while I was making breakfast. Thanks Uncle Cary for such a fun present (for all of us ;-)).
Again, I'm crazy proud of our Madison. Love you, Bug!
