Trick-Or-Treat

Today is Halloween, and my kids had a ball. Well, except for M3 who I don't think really felt well. It is not much fun being sick for a holiday. Anyway, Tuesday we carved pumpkins which is where all the fun began. Wednesday was the school Spooktacular where I got to help make cotton candy for the 1st grade classes from 10am until 2:15 when I finally quit. I think I still have cotton candy sugar stuff in my sinuses. Cozy (and a beautiful image, I know). Then Thursday night was our Ward Chili Cook Off and Carnival. Then today. Lots of fun, lots of painted faces, and lots of tired people in our house. But I thought I better post a picture or two of the festivities. M2 & M3 decided that they had had enough by about 7:45 and went home to be with The Father. M1 and I kept on going. Finally about 8:30 it started to rain a little bit, so we went back home, but not after getting tons more candy and a home-made doughnut each. Mmmm.

Blessed New Hampshire

So last week I went on a retreat with 10 of my roommates (we all lived on the 6 th floor of U-Hall in Deseret Towers) from freshman year. There are a few of my friends that are very eloquent with their words; I am not one of those people. But I do have to acknowledge that I went because it was truly incredible. I'm one of those that gives all the gruesome details, so if you don't want them, stop reading. Skim quickly. I left on Wednesday night to catch a red-eye in Salt Lake City with one of my closest friends. Let me just say that I don't question the "red-eye" description. We got to Las Vegas and my friend played Wheel-of-Fortune in the airport. Our pilot/co-pilot was very funny--while we were taxiing to the gate, he got on the PA and said, "Well folks, to your left are all the beautiful lights of Las Vegas. They aren't there because of the winners...Avoid the black." I thought it was funny. It doesn't seem as funny now, though....

Ouch, that hurt.

Poor M2. Today she had to go to the immunization clinic at the local Pediatric Center. Somehow we missed the Kindergarten shots and she had to get 5. Ridiculous. The nurse put 5 sparkly band-aids on her legs and very lovingly called them Bravery Stripes. Is that supposed to make it better? But then we went and got her a new headboard/footboard. But they aren't boards at all. Wrought Iron. When we actually pick them up and put the bed together, I'll take pictures. Won't it be grand. (Don't hold your breath.)
