The Burrs In Our Saddles

Last weekend my in-laws came into town so they could see M1 and M2 clog. The girls were excited that they came and I really appreciate the lengths they will go to in order to see their granddaughters. If this works, you'll get to see them "clog." If not, you'll understand just how computer illiterate I am. BTW, M1 is on the far left in the front and M2 is on the far right in the back. Enjoy (and I'm sorry about all the shaking in the beginning. I was moving from one bleacher to another and wasn't paying attention to the fact that I was videoing. And I don't know how to edit the video)!

So I finally got ahold of the pictures that we took with the Girls' cousin, K, in Phoenix. Here they are. Enjoy--I sure do. By the way, K will be 3 in April. M3 is 5 1/2. Notice the difference in size--not much. Fun though.

Do you ever get that feeling? M3 is my mischievous little munchkin. She is naughty. She gets into anything and everything. If she wants something she can't reach, she finds a stool or a chair and drags it. If a toy is closer, she'll climb on it to reach whatever she wants. If she finds a package of gum (heaven forbid) she'll open every piece, chew it once or twice, remove it from her mouth, and leave it so she can chew the next piece. For all 18 pieces if the pack was full. We use cornstarch on her sore bottom (sure, we have the other unhelpful ointments available), and she has dumped 3 entire boxes (yes, brand new, used maybe 3 times to sprinkle on said bottom) into the carpet. At 3 different times. In 3 different rooms. Why do we leave them where she can reach them, you might ask. See initial 3 sentences of this blog. AAARRRGGGHHH! M1 nor M2 were like this. They didn't get into cupboards. All cupboards that have things M3 doesn't need to be into hav...

Hooray!! My in-laws returned from their adventures in Hong Kong. The girls were so excited to go to Arizona to see them return. Oh the excitement--it was palpable. We left home after M1 got done with piano lessons on Wednesday and drove to my mom's house to sleep. We got up early and got to go to the airport to fly on an airplane (it was a lot better than our flights to Asia) to Pheonix. "Are we there already?" "That was fast!" All 3 Ms were excellent and behaved beautifully. My sil, N, picked us up from the airport; all 4 suitcases, the stroller, carry on bags, diaper bag. What a sight I'm sure the 4 of us travelling was. So we got to PHX the day my in-laws arrived. We had a list a mile long of things we needed to finish before we were supposed to be at the airport to pick them up. Finish the banner, make signs (each of the Ms and our niece, K, all got to make their own), make the menu/grocery shop...the list was plenty long for the amount of t...

It was an exciting time to decorate boxes, sign names on a zillion tiny pieces of paper (that aren't easy for a 5 year old to write her 9-letter name), and dole candy out to people we really don't know all that well. Then, of course, get a zillion pieces of candy in return that none of us need to (or should) eat. The Father was at work until 10:00 that night because our server crashed. It is 5 days later and it still is not up and running. Ridiculous. So the girls and I ate our annual heart shaped pizza from Papa Murphy's and enjoyed it, without our valentine. It was a little bit upsetting, but I've decided that you can't ever expect anything to go right when you own your own business. I did get to play for Jim Brickman, but he was not very nice and I didn't get a picture with him. Don't get me wrong-he is an incredible musician, but not very nice. I just realized that I never posted about Christmas or New Year. Christmas: It was superb. We stayed home for the first time in I can't remember how long. It was just our family. Triple M, The Father, and Me. Wonderful. We got up Christmas morning about 8:00 (heaven) and opened all our presents. It didn't take long, but sure was fun. Unfortunately I videoed the whole thing and have no still pictures to post. If I can ever find the cable to download my videos, I will. Later that day, we had to do a Barium study on a dog at the vet hopsital. Basically, that consisted of giving a boxer a ton of barium to watch it move through the intestines via digital radiography. It had been vomiting for the last I can't remember how long and not getting better so we had to see if it was blocked by something. After taking a bunch of x-rays over the afternoon, The Father decided that he was going to have to do exploratory surgery the next day--the barium was pretty thin from about half way t...

M1 went to the dentist yesterday to get her first teeth pulled. Her front tooth is having a hard time coming in (the one that got knocked out clear in the beginning of October) because there is no room. So she got 2 baby teeth (that haven't started to get loose yet) pulled to make room for the permanent teeth trying to come in. While we were there, we had the dentist pull one that was about to fall out anyway, making 3 missing teeth. And to top it all off, she bit herself when she was numb so her lip swelled up like I've never seen a lip swell up. She stayed home from school today so that the mean kids at school wouldn't hurt her feelings. If it were me, I wouldn't want to go to school either. Sad girl. The woes of losing teeth.
