Valentine's Day

It was an exciting time to decorate boxes, sign names on a zillion tiny pieces of paper (that aren't easy for a 5 year old to write her 9-letter name), and dole candy out to people we really don't know all that well. Then, of course, get a zillion pieces of candy in return that none of us need to (or should) eat.

The Father was at work until 10:00 that night because our server crashed. It is 5 days later and it still is not up and running. Ridiculous. So the girls and I ate our annual heart shaped pizza from Papa Murphy's and enjoyed it, without our valentine.

It was a little bit upsetting, but I've decided that you can't ever expect anything to go right when you own your own business.

I did get to play for Jim Brickman, but he was not very nice and I didn't get a picture with him. Don't get me wrong-he is an incredible musician, but not very nice. Hopefully I'll get to play with him next year :-).

We are getting ready to leave for Arizona. My in-laws get home from their mission on Thursday, and we get to greet them when they get off the plane from LAX. The girls can't wait.

I'm really very proud of M2. She grew her hair to donate to Locks of Love. We finally cut it last Saturday night. Her hair is really short (by the time I finished straightening it), but really is quite cute. It matches her spunky personality. And best of all, she loves it. I made a little layered A-line and she likes it to be flipped out. Though it does look a little crazy when it is.

M3 is lover of all things yogurt. She wakes up in the morning, runs to the refrigerator and bangs on it until someone opens it. (It doesn't take long) then she points and grunts. We try to convince her it is something else she wants, but it never works. The other day I gave her a container of yogurt, not very well supervised, obviously, and she couldn't get the last bit out. Poor thing. She did all she could to get every last drop out, including trying to get her whole face into the container. Cute, but messy. I usually love having kids because they are just great little people. I hope they stay being great.

Hey Natalie it's Ashley....I got your address off of Nan's blog. I am so happy to be able to sort of keep in touch with the Burr side in one way or another! It sounds like life is as busy as ever. Your girls are still as darling as ever. Are you planning on coming up this year for Easter. That seems to be the one time our kids can see each other. If need be, leave "The Father" at home with the dogs. haha We would love to see ya there. By boys love to "mingle" with the ladies of the family.

Father's Day

So I'm a day late (and probably a dollar short, I'm not sure I haven't looked at our checking account lately) but I was busy over the weekend.  The girls came home (2 days early) and I was in Utah running the Wasatch Back.  And I pretty much missed Father's Day. I got home at 7:30 last night and Colby had made the girls dinner, cleaned up, and started the dishwasher.  They were watching Extreme Makeover Home Edition.  Had it been Mother's Day, he never would have lived it down, but he hasn't said a word (maybe that's not a good thing).  He's a great dad.  As I get teary just sitting down writing this, knowing he will never see/read it, he's amazing.  He's a hard worker and does it all for the girls and me.  He doesn't (usually) complain about anything and does what needs to be done.  He loves the kids and probably missed them as much as I did while they were gone.  I don't give him enough credit for having emotions about anything, but ...

In A One Horse Open Sled

Today we unloaded a couple tons of hay and Colby saddled up Lightening and pulled the girls around our 3.5 acres.  They had a ball and especially enjoyed singing "Jingle Bells...in a one horse open sled."  They make me laugh sometimes.  Ok, fine, a lot of times.

Holy Sm

I started typing in my title and when I finally looked up and saw (at that very point) that I've already used this one. So to reiterate, Holy Smokes! I can't believe how much I have to catch up on! Maybe tomorrow when I don't have visiting teachers coming, cleaning for my mother-in-law to make an appearance, Madie's piano lesson, 6 violin lessons, rehearsal and somehow I found time to pinch poor Meriden's finger in the front door, I'll download some photos from 1. Christmas (What?!? I still haven't done that?) 2. New Years Eve/Day 3. Madison and Mackenzie's first gymnastics meet videos and photos all before we go to another meet this weekend in Salt Lake, making sure I look like a good mom since my mother-in-law is in town (aka having food on the table at a decent hour), teach a few gymnastics classes, getting ready for Madison's big 9th birthday, taking treats into her class and actually getting packed and to Salt Lake all by Friday at 3 pm. ...
